Dragon lantern drone, the auspicious Rong – Phuong symbol, is an impressive highlight at the opening night of the Light & Heritage Festival 4.3
The highlight of the opening night was a drone light show recreating the images of Rong – Phuong in the sky of Hoi An. The sacred symbol of East Asian culture, representing auspiciousness and prosperity, will for the first time be "drawn" using drone technology combined with light effects and fireworks, creating a brilliant spectacle against the ancient backdrop of the old trading port. The combination of modern technology and traditional cultural symbols promises to bring an impressive visual moment to locals and tourists.
A large-scale artistic lantern space themed "Indo-Asian Ship – A Painting of Heritage" recreating the prosperous Faifo trading port
More than just a light show, the Light & Heritage Festival 2026 is built as a multi-sensory artistic feast. A large-scale live-action stage with the participation of hundreds of actors will simultaneously take place on the ground, alongside aerial performances. Music, dance, stage effects, and high-tech lighting blend together, recreating the prosperous Faifo cultural space, creating a vivid and seamless artistic experience.
The festival space leads visitors into a world where memories and the present intersect along the historical flow of the ancient Hoi An town.
After the opening night, the festival will last until April 30, 2026, with many experiential activities for visitors. Highlights include large-scale art lantern clusters themed “Chau An Thuyen – Heritage Painting”, recreating the image of the Hoi An trading port in the 17th century in a vibrant light space. In addition, there are traditional craft village workshops, regular art performance programs, and light installation spaces guiding visitors to explore the historical flow of the ancient town.
With substantial investment in content and technology, the Light & Heritage Festival 2026 is expected to become a unique night tourism product for the Central region. The event not only contributes to refreshing the experience in Hoi An but also enhances the destination's appeal during the peak tourist season, opening up further development momentum for the local cultural and entertainment industry.
