The "giant" lifting and lowering dome system in the history of the organization
The stage for the Danang International Fireworks Festival 2026 with the theme "Danang – United Horizons" is designed based on the idea of "crossroads of unity", inspired by the imagined moment when the Earth slows down, bringing horizons closer. At that time, boundaries no longer exist, replaced by the intersection of culture, time, and emotion.
The design language is expressed through three spatial layers, with curves evoking connecting bridges. At the highest level, an expanding light arch symbolizes aspiration and continuous forward-thinking. Below, the reflective water surface retains soft light streaks, creating emotional depth and highlighting the dialogue between tradition and modernity.
Across a total width of up to 100m, the stage is intentionally widened to accommodate the extended VIP seating area, ensuring audiences on both sides have a complete view. With an area of nearly 1,200m² and a main performance area of 50m wide, this space is sufficient for large-scale grand scenes, while also being closely connected to the fireworks sky above.
Sharing the special features of the DIFF 2026 stage compared to previous years, the Organizing Committee stated that the most notable highlight lies in its unprecedented mechanical system. For the first time, a giant lifting and lowering arch, over 40m wide and more than 10m high, is operated as the central axis of the stage. Alongside this are 5 sets of mechanical arches that can move independently or synchronously, creating continuously transforming spatial layers. The operating speed is impressive, with the central arches completing their journey in under 70 seconds, allowing the stage to "change scenes" flexibly in real-time.
Accompanying the mechanical structure is a powerful leap in performance technology, combining programmable lifting technology, high-power lasers, and a 3D matrix LED system with Retro Amber lighting to create modern spatial effects and depict "horizons of light." .
One of the special features contributing to this year's stage design is the LED screen system, which not only serves as a display but also acts as a "light skin," both transparent and reflective, helping to flexibly and subtly depict the design concepts. The combination of light, screens, and mechanical movement makes the entire stage a "living entity," capable of continuous transformation with each performance, offering the audience a multi-layered visual experience.

Not only does it boast an impressive artistic stage, but DIFF 2026 is also considered an All-Star season, gathering the world's leading fireworks teams, promising explosive, spectacular, and thrilling competitions. This is also the first year DIFF has been voted among the top 9 most worthwhile festivals on the planet by the world's leading travel magazine, Travel + Leisure.
The opening night with the theme "Nature" on May 30th will feature a competition between the host team, Da Nang Firework Team, Vietnam, and the Chinese team. Night 2 (June 6th) with the theme "Heritage" will be between France and Z121 Vina Pyrotech, Vietnam. Night 3 (June 13th) with the theme "Culture" will be a contest between newcomer Japan and the experienced Italian fireworks team at DIFF. Night 4 (June 20th) with the theme "Creativity" will be between Germany and Macau (China). Night 5 (June 27th) with the theme "Vision" will be between Australia and Portugal. The final night will take place on July 11th, with the main theme title "Da Nang - United Horizons."
