In Da Nang, the Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the official currency. Although the US dollar (USD) may be accepted at some high-end hotels, resorts or shops catering to tourists, most shopping, dining and daily services still use VND. VISA EXEMPTION & E-VISA

International visitors to Da Nang can enter with a visa exemption or an electronic visa (e-visa). Citizens from 13 countries such as Germany, France, the UK, Japan, South Korea, etc. are exempt from visas for stays of up to 45 days. From March 1, 2025, the visa exemption policy will also apply to citizens of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland. Visitors from other countries can apply for an e-visa valid for 90 days, with single or multiple entries. The e-visa application procedure is done online through the Vietnam Immigration Department's Information Portal, making the entry process to Da Nang more convenient.

LANGUAGE

In Da Nang, Vietnamese is the main language used in daily communication. However, in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants and shopping centers, English is also widely used to serve international tourists. Thanks to the strong development of tourism, many staff in the service industry in Da Nang can also communicate in basic Korean, Chinese and Japanese, making it easier for tourists to visit and experience the city.

In Da Nang, tipping tour guides, drivers, restaurant or hotel staff is not mandatory. The amount of tip usually depends on the experience and satisfaction of the guest, usually about 5-10% of the bill at high-end restaurants or a small amount for the service staff. Leaving a tip shows respect and contributes to improving the quality of local tourism services.
