The formation process of Dragon Bridge began on July 19, 2009. After nearly four years of construction, the project was completed and officially put into use on March 29, 2013, coinciding with the 38th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang.
The architecture of Dragon Bridge was conceived by the American company Ammann and Whitney, in coordination with domestic units, with a total investment of 1,739 billion VND. This was the result of an international design competition, surpassing many creative proposals from both domestic and international sources. With a total weight of nearly 9,000 tons, it is also one of the heaviest bridges in Vietnam. A system of 15,000 color-changing LED lights is installed along the dragon's body, creating a shimmering, magical appearance when night falls.
