On the morning of February 25, at 06:15, the first commercial flight of Sun PhuQuoc Airways departed from Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi), marking a new connection route to Da Nang. Shortly after, at 10:30, the flight departing from Tan Son Nhat Airport also took off, bringing the first passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to the beautiful central coastal city.

To meet the increasing demand for trade and tourism, Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to significantly increase capacity starting from March 2026. Specifically, the Hanoi - Da Nang route starts with 2 flights/day and will quickly double to 4 flights/day from March 1, 2026. Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route will operate 2 flights/day starting from February 25, 2026.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways joining the Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang flight axis contributes to expanding choices for airlines, flight times, and services for people and tourists.

This is the first step in the plan to connect Da Nang with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; subsequently, from March 15, 2026, Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to launch the Da Nang - Phu Quoc route, further completing the connectivity network between key tourism centers.

The new route further enhances its strategic value as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026), sponsored and co-organized by Sun Group, will officially open at the end of May. With the participation of 10 firework teams, including promising newcomers like Macau (China) and Japan, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will be one of the most convenient "wings" to bring millions of tourists to the brilliant fireworks festival season along the Han River.

Especially, from now until June 30, 2026, customers using the NCB iziMobile banking app or NCB credit card holders will enjoy priority check-in at Sun PhuQuoc Airways' priority counter, shortening check-in time and enhancing the flying experience. 

NCB priority customers of Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Private tiers will have access to the business lounge with private space, dining, drinks, and comfortable work areas. Customers only need to present the NCB iziMobile app on their personal phone or a valid NCB Visa card, with information matching their identification documents and boarding pass on flights operated by SPA, to use this privilege.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways' Global Vision 

As the first airline in Vietnam named after an island, Sun Phu Quoc Airways is invested in and developed by Sun Group, following a "hub-and-spoke" network model with Phu Quoc as the hub, providing a seamless travel experience linked to Sun Group's world-class resort and entertainment ecosystem on the pearl island. On February 18, 2026, in Washington D.C. (USA), the airline signed a contract worth USD 22.5 billion to purchase 40 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft. This is the largest Boeing wide-body aircraft order in Vietnamese aviation history to date.

With a continental range of up to 14,010 km, the Dreamliner fleet will be the foundation for Sun Phu Quoc Airways to establish direct routes from Phu Quoc to Europe, North America, and North Asia.
