The Cau Ngu Festival is a unique spiritual cultural feature of the coastal residents of Da Nang, especially in Tho Quang fishing village. The festival is held annually to commemorate Ca Ong (whale) – the guardian deity of fishermen. This is an occasion for the community to express gratitude to the sea, pray for peace, calm weather, and abundant catches. The festival attracts a large number of locals and tourists.
