Originating in the 1940s as a civilian-military airport during the French colonial period, Da Nang Airport has undergone many significant transformations. Later, the airport was greatly upgraded and continued to be strongly modernized from 2017 to serve the APEC conference and international tourism economic development.
Currently, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is responsible for management, coordinating with military and civil aviation authorities in operations. The comprehensive modernization process of many major components from 2017 to 2025 has brought about clear positive changes.

With an area of 36,600 m², the Domestic Terminal T1 of Da Nang Airport is equipped with over 40 check-in counters and dozens of modern self-check-in kiosks.
